Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Olumi
What is Olumi?
Olumi is a to-do and task app for families with children aged 6 to 16. Parents create tasks and schedules, children see clearly what needs to be done – with reminders, motivation, and fixed structures.
Who is Olumi for?
Olumi is designed for parents or guardians and their children. Parents manage tasks, settings, and rewards in the parent area. Children use the app exclusively through their own child access.
Are there separate parent and child areas?
Yes. Olumi clearly separates the parent area from the child area. The parent area contains all management and settings functions. Children only see their own tasks and progress.
How do children log in?
Children don't log in with email or password. Access is via a personal access code assigned by the parents.
Can parents use Olumi on multiple devices?
Yes. Parents can log in with their email address on multiple devices, e.g., on iOS, Android, or on the web at www.olumi.app. All data is automatically synchronized.
What happens if a child changes or loses their device?
The child can simply log in on a new device with their personal access code. Tasks, points, and progress are fully retained.
What types of tasks are there?
Parents can create different task types: one-time tasks, recurring tasks, as well as daily and weekly tasks.
What happens if a task isn't completed?
Tasks are day-based. If a task isn't completed, it won't automatically appear the next day. Parents can manually mark tasks as done or undone at any time.
Can children create or modify tasks themselves?
No. Tasks are created and managed exclusively by parents.
What are the points for?
Points serve as motivation. Parents can define individual rewards. When a child reaches the required number of points, they can claim the reward. There is no shop and no monetization of points.
Can points be corrected or reset?
Points cannot be directly reset. However, parents can retroactively mark tasks as undone, which automatically deducts the corresponding points.
Who receives push notifications?
Both parents and children can receive push notifications. Parents determine which reminders children receive and at what times. Push notifications must be enabled on the respective device.
Does Olumi work without push notifications?
Yes. The app is fully usable without push notifications. Reminders will simply not appear as push notifications.
Can multiple family members use Olumi?
Yes. Olumi is designed for families. Multiple adults such as both parents, grandparents, or other caregivers can jointly manage a family. All children in the family can have their own profiles.
Do children need to register with an email address?
No. Children don't need an email address or password. Access is exclusively via a personal access code and is intentionally simple and child-friendly.
Can tasks be customized?
Yes. Parents can flexibly adapt tasks to the family's needs, plan them to recur, set times, or reassign them to individual children.
Are there reminders for due tasks?
Yes. Olumi sends automatic reminders so tasks aren't forgotten. Parents determine when and which reminders are sent.
How secure is my data?
Data protection is a top priority at Olumi. All data is transmitted and stored encrypted and not shared with third parties. There is no advertising, no tracking, and no profiling.
Where is my data stored?
All personal data is stored and processed exclusively on servers within the European Union, specifically in Germany. No processing takes place outside the EU.
What does Olumi cost?
Olumi is free to use. The basic version remains free.
Can accounts be deleted?
Yes. Parents can delete their own account as well as all child accounts at any time in the profile. After deletion, all associated data is completely removed.
